NY street artist for hire. We designed a mural for Tandym Group’s office lobby. The goal was to go hand in hand with the rebranding of their agency. This mural is the first thing you see as the elevator doors open onto their floor of the NYC office building Tandym operates from. That said, the story we search for when designing a mural is not necessarily a linear series of thoughts, or scenes, like a traditional storyboard. Tandym Group is a job placement recruiting agency (a serious place), and like the architecture of a bank, the surroundings should imply something about their core.
For this piece we developed a geometric language that is modern. Our street artist for hire painted a multi faceted piece that is in sync with its environment. Something that looks interesting at a glance. And if you hold you gaze on the shapes the relevant details then emerge. Something akin to what we would hope a resume does under the eye of a potential employer. Or in this case, a recruiter. The geometry conveys stability, opportunity, and connection, in a design that is not a literal translation of the agencies themes (without icons or info graphics to help communicate the message). Once the design was established, we played around with the color story, landing on a complimentary set of shades neighboring those found in the lobby furnishings.
