Minneapolis Mural Art
Northern Oil & Gas sits in Minnetonka, MN. The onetime home to Prince and his studio. NOG’s employees come from both of the Twin Cities, so they recently asked us to paint a mural for both places in their office. We can say Minnetonka is a suburb of Minneapolis, so one mural is dedicated to Minneapolis. The other city in the relationship, and to receive a mural, is St Paul. NOG’s interior designer was the person that contacted us initially, and her request highlights an advantage to working with us. Ultimately the end client wanted something in a street art aesthetic for their Minneapolis mural art. That said, they also had strict requirements regarding content and palette in order to fit within a corporate environment. We suggested the right artist for the desired outcome, and helped keep guard rails in mind as we managed the creative collaboration.
The details of each mural are a homage to each of the twin cities and were advocated for by locals. Additionally, our artist knew the areas personally and could contribute also. We kept it relatively crispy overall, with a little bit of controlled drippy-ness, some swipes and extra effects. Branded identity and color-story intact, we delivered murals that both of the employee groups, and ownership, can enjoy during their workday. The finished piece compliments a three piece suit, and still gets the Prince reference off right up front.
