We love when we have the opportunity to work on unique projects – like this artwork on umbrellas. From a remote location, we were able to support Bud Light by creating branded artwork on umbrellas. Bud Light’s “House of Whatever” in downtown Phoenix, AZ was one of the biggest Super Bowl XLIX events in town! And, we had the honor of contributing to Bud Light’s 70,000- square foot footprint for their party. We designed and created 30 custom hand-painted umbrellas for the venue.
“For three days during Super Bowl week, the Bud Light House of Whatever will feature a fully immersive experience of unforgettable parties, amazing concerts and signature activities. Similarly, to Whatever, USA, the Bud Light House of Whatever will reward consumers 21 and older who prove they are truly up for whatever happens next.” Anheuser Busch Newsroom
Three of our artists worked on the project with inspiration from original designs that reflect the Bud Light brand and color palette. Mike P (NYC), Todd Lown (Seattle), and Jonathan Wakuda painted all of the artwork on umbrellas by hand. We used a combination of aerosol, stencils and one shot, depending on the particular design. We painted each umbrella to be unique, but also to remain on-brand for the Bud Light client and event. Finally, we hand-wrapped the artwork on umbrellas and carefully sent them to Phoenix. Once in Phoenix, the umbrellas were constructed into a giant Bud Light “tree.” The final installation provided a canopy-like structure over one of the bars inside the venue. We think the final installment turned out very cool! We enjoy working with the Bud Light team, and hope to get the opportunity to do so again soon!

The “House of Whatever” is packed every night, and is called the party of all Super Bowl parties! Thanks to many highlights of the multi-day party including a Pac-Man area, and an interactive carousel horse that guests can paint. And of course, the artwork on umbrellas tree activation with the help of our team. Plus, live music from a range of bands and musicians. Like performances with DJ Steve Aoki and Nikki Minaj who treated football fans to a surprise performance!
