Capturing recurring themes of a trade conference with typography and icons has been a popular ask as of late. This time the opportunity for EGR after our last partnership with a successful event in DC. Doing just that, they came to us with another similar opportunity. This time in Arizona for Hear USA. The elements are pre-painted for this format. in the lead up to the event, we design the layout and identify . This is done to maximize the time during the live window for the application of the typographic pieces, Also, to provide a structure or shapes for our artist to work within. In this case, as the end client is in the hearing-health industry, their soundwave-esq branded ID provided good background shapes to work with.
Without a doubt, it is important to connect the brand with our art. So we stayed within their official color palette. The bubble forms were lifted pretty directly from their design assets. First, we prep the canvas. Secondly, the background in place and we move to the live portion. Over the waveform bubbles live with different fonts, words and phrases prompted from the attendees. The interaction is fun for all involved. Importantly, the guests contribute and engage with their hand in the final piece. “Ownership” of the final art is community based, a sum of the contributions from individuals in the target groups.
