Interactive zipper mural for Graffiti USA. One of our artists created this amazing zipper graffiti installation. Fabricating pieces to create a 3D zipper texture that protrudes from the wall, we are still wow’d with the overall work. The zipper “unzips” to reveal a colorful wall of graffiti and street art tags underneath. Using light weight material, this can be easily installed in an office space, business or residential environment. There are many options for permanent installs of temporary/removable pieces. This is a great way to create a lot of impact but not oversaturate an entire wall full of a mural. Furthermore, you can place this style of graffiti across multiple walls and surfaces. When creating the interactive zipper mural, we used custom cut blocks for the teeth. Next, we fabricated the zipper pull and added embossed detailing. Finally, we finished with aluminum spray to mimic the real texture.
Our colorful graffiti design contrasted with the clean, white gallery walls. Within the street art were symbols including a foam hand and comic book pop art. In addition, our artist tagged his name along with shout outs to his friends. Putting up your friends’ names are a fun part of graffiti culture! The interactive zipper mural also spanned across multiple wall surfaces.
